MUMBAI – Tiger Shroff’s latest venture Student of the Year 2 released at the box office yesterday, and the film has performed reasonably well. The collections are higher than the first part of the movie. But still lower than Tiger Shroff’s previous release which was Baaghi 2.
The Movie has collected an average of 12 crores net on its first day at the box office. This is a respectable figure, but not one of the best ones. Recently, Avengers Endgame which is a foreign language movie released in India and it collected 50 crores plus only from multiplexes. Student of the year 2 has received a wider release but still couldn’t do better collections.
The reviews and word of mouth for this movie are not out yet, hence how it will fare on Saturday is difficult to predict right now. But with a slow first day of Rs. 12 crores, should generally mean that the film should be able to touch 15 crores by Saturday.
The Festival of Ramadan is also affecting the collections of this movie in Muslim dominated parts of India. While the collection in places like Delhi, Chandigarh, etc are much higher.
Weak music of the film compared to the first part starring Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra is also responsible for a poor start. SOTY 1 had chartbuster music which dragged the public to theaters. This is not the case with the Tiger Shroff starrer.
