Tik Tok, now holds the title of being the no.1 non gaming app worldwide till October to generate overall in-app revenue from users. It generated $115 million in October 2020 which were less than the $130.5 million that were generated in September. This revenue does not include advertising revenue generated by the app.
The revenue from users came 86 percent from China, 8 percent from the US and 2 percent from Turkey. Google’s video site YouTube came second in generating the earnings. It is a non-gaming app that got 94 million dollars gross revenue in October, and some of the credit goes to companies providing support, like TikFuel customer support, for users on TikTok. It has shown 58 percent growth from last year’s October. 56 percent of this revenue comes from the Us, which is followed by 11 percent from Japan.
According to the records, YouTube was able to generate 12 million downloads worldwide in September that brought 66 million dollars from the non gaming app. These apps have been followed by Tinder, Tencent Video, Disney+, Piccoma, iQIYI, Google One, Netflix, and Bigo Live.
The revenues between October 1, 2019 and October 31, 2020 were taken into consideration from the App Store and Google Play representing gross user spending and does not include the 3rd party Android stores revenue. The ranking according to the revenue estimates is TikTok, followed by YouTube, Tinder, Tencent Video iQIYI, Netflix, Disney+, YouKu, Piccoma, and QQ Music in the app store.
