New Delhi – Delhi chief minister has announced to shut down all the schools and colleges, where exams are not being conducted, for a time period of 3 weeks. The decision has been taken in order to limit the spread of coronavirus in the National Capital. Until now, Delhi has reported a total of 6 coronavirus cases and hence the Delhi government has decided to shut all schools, colleges, and cinemas till 31st of March, 2020.
Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi CM has told the media that the administration has been making all the possible efforts to avoid the spread of COVID-19 in the capital city. While making the announcement, he called the coronavirus outbreak an epidemic and asked people to take the necessary measures to put a check on the spread of this deadly disease.
“Disinfecting all public places, including govt, private offices, and shopping malls, has been made compulsory. All cinema halls to remain shut in Delhi till 31st March. Schools and colleges where exams are not being held will also remain closed,” said Kejriwal. At present, the total number of coronavirus cases in India has reached the value 73 and a total of 13 new cases have been added recently.
Coronavirus has claimed over 4200 lives and it has infected more than 117, 330 people all over the world. More than 100 countries across the world have been affected due to this deadly virus and the World Health Organization has declared it a global pandemic disease. India has canceled the visas for a month in order to put a check on the spread of coronavirus.
