Nokia is set to launch a new low range smartphone that will be powered by Android. While the specs are not that special, the handset will be Android powered. Nokia lost its position in the Market when phones like Blackberry and Apple launched dynamic specs and state of the art technology, which Nokia failed to keep up with.
Nokia instead launched a Microsoft phone which failed to meet customer expectations and didn’t do as well in the market as they thought. Nokia which was once considered to be the optimum of cell phone makers and the leader of innovation, swiftly lost its position in the cellphone rat race and has not been able to pick it up again.
Android and Apple stand as the market leaders with Samsung and iPhone as favorites amongst mobile phone users. Nokia’s new release will set a pace for Nokia but it is unlikely that they will be able to knock off Samsung and iPhone from the top positions.
The company is not likely to enter the high-end market anytime soon in the US. This is where most of the sales happen. But in the low range Cell phone market, it is likely that Nokia will do rather well, especially with the low range Android mobile that has all the specs of a Samsung.
